Overview
LIC required a modern, scalable, and secure API gateway platform to replace and modernize existing infrastructure while ensuring uninterrupted service continuity for internal and external consumers.
Techwondoe designed and delivered a phased migration strategy to AWS API Gateway and EKS infrastructure, enabling the organization to modernize its API ecosystem without operational disruption. The solution included custom authorization components, rate-limiting controls, observability tooling, and automated testing pipelines to support long-term scalability and reliability.
The migration was delivered under a business-critical renewal deadline while maintaining a flawless security posture and platform stability throughout the transition.

The challenge
LIC required a complete API gateway modernization under a highly time-sensitive renewal deadline. The migration needed to occur without service disruption while maintaining strict security standards and supporting existing enterprise integrations.
The project also required careful stakeholder coordination, phased rollout planning, and robust testing to minimize operational risk across a critical enterprise platform.

Approach
Techwondoe implemented a phased migration strategy designed to reduce operational risk while progressively modernizing the platform architecture.
The team worked closely with LIC stakeholders to design scalable AWS-native infrastructure, implement advanced authorization and rate-limiting capabilities, and establish comprehensive automated testing pipelines. Observability and monitoring were embedded into the platform from the beginning to ensure operational transparency and rapid incident detection.
Security and reliability remained core priorities throughout the delivery process, resulting in a successful migration with zero downtime and minimal disruption to platform consumers.

We built on AWS API Gateway and EKS for the core platform, Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, Auth0 for authorization, Datadog for observability, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation — with comprehensive automated testing via Postman, Jest, and Supertest.
